High reliability, small footprint

The HEUFT InLine II IR doesn’t require much space to perform a comprehensive empty bottle inspection.

A straightforward all-surface empty bottle inspection on just one square meter of floor space. This is what made its predecessor the long-standing benchmark for all those who want to thoroughly inspect their empty bottles – even with limited space between the washer and the filler – and reuse and refill only those containers that are truly flawless and safe. The HEUFT InLine II IR also fits into virtually any installation space! This makes it particularly suitable for small and medium-sized bottling plants that expect top-notch performance in terms of detection and rejection reliability.

Compact, modular and versatile, this new-generation entry-level unit can be integrated into even the tightest of spaces – including as a retrofit in existing filling lines. A space of just over one square metre is all that is needed to inspect the base, the finish and the thread. A complete optical inspection of these critical areas can even be carried out entirely within this very limited space.

Full coverage in the smallest of spaces

Even a single add-on cabinet designed specifically for sidewall inspection at the inlet or outlet of the HEUFT InLine II IR is sufficient to ensure – at line speeds ranging from 2,000 to 24,000 bottles per hou – that the empty bottle inspection covers the full container volume, including the entire bottle walls, without any blind spots. With this configuration, an installation space of just under three meters is sufficient to incorporate the compact straight-through conveyor – including the rejection system – into tightly spaced bottling lines. The HEUFT speedy conveyor control , designed for seamless integration into an existing line between the washing machine and the filler, can be integrated directly into the HEUFT InLine II IR in such cases to ensure efficient and gentle bottle transport.

With a second sidewall module, it even enables seamless inspection across all surfaces of up to 72,000 empty bottles per hour. The total length from the infeed to the outfeed remains under 2.50 meters in this configuration as well, with a footprint of just over one square meter. If space in the bottle cellar is even more limited, the modular design of the HEUFT InLine II IR offers alternative integration options:

Flexibly integrable modular system

Whether it’s brightness compensation for beer bottles or mineral ring detection for mineral water containers: The modular system of the HEUFT SPECTRUM II platform offers numerous options and modules for a wide variety of requirements. Individual components can be strategically relocated, allowing, for example, the infeed check to be installed separately and flexibly.

The HEUFT fluid module can also be positioned almost anywhere up to the filler to detect lye, oil, varnish, or other liquid residues in the bottle before filling. Furthermore, HEUFT rejection systems can be flexibly positioned in front of the filling machine to remove defective and contaminated bottles from the production line before the precious beverage can enter them.

Live at BrauBeviale 2026

Anyone interested can see just how well this works in a confined space at BrauBeviale in Nuremberg in November 2026. In addition to the X-ray and AI-supported high-end system HEUFT InLine II IX, the latest release of the HEUFT InLine II IR will also be on display there specifically as a space-saving version with just one module for sidewall inspection, which is sure to provide complete coverage of all surfaces for small and medium line capacities.
