Intelligent and responsible

In keeping with the trade fair motto, HEUFT demonstrated at Anuga FoodTec 2024 how artificial intelligence (AI) can deepen consumer and brand protection and stop waste.

Responsibility means protecting the consumers of its products. Responsibility means withdrawing unsafe food from circulation in good time. But responsibility also means only sorting out genuinely faulty products so that no packaging or food is wasted.

For us, responsibility therefore means continuously improving the operational safety, availability, performance, detection accuracy and intelligence of our quality control and inspection systems. We have been doing this for 45 years now – and it fits in perfectly with the guiding theme of Responsibility at this year's Anuga FoodTec, which recently took place in Cologne.

Intelligent protection against risks and waste

Our AI, which now goes even deeper in X-ray image processing and finds foreign bodies where this was previously impossible, is a good example of this. Integrated into both the HEUFT eXaminer II XAC for detecting glass splinters in food jars and the HEUFT eXaminer II XT for foreign object detection even before packaging, the latest HEUFT reflexx A.I. version caused quite a sensation at the international trade fair for the food industry.

This is because it not only increases the detection and rejection reliability for responsible consumer and brand protection, but also further reduces the proportion of incorrect rejections. And that means significantly less irresponsible packaging and food waste!
