Full pipe to close the gap!

The pulsed radiometric technology for a uniquely careful and precise foreign object detection is only found in X-ray systems from HEUFT.  The new pipeline inspector means that all the HEUFT eXaminer devices are now based on the highly automated HEUFT SPECTRUM II:  the HEUFT eXaminer II XT achieves even more than its predecessor not only during the precise inspection of a liquid, paste-like or spreadable product mass but also before the packaging process.

The HEUFT eXaminer II XOS for the optical and radiometric inspection of filled bottles, the HEUFT eXaminer II XAC for the base and sidewall inspection of full food jars, the HEUFT eXaminer II XB for the top-down inspection of solid and finished packaged products, the compact HEUFT eXaminer II XS for the all-embracing sidewall inspection of stand-up pouches, composite packaging or food cans:  in the meantime all the HEUFT systems with the exclusive pulsed X-ray technology for a wide range of end of line applications are based on the modern HEUFT SPECTRUM II platform.  This now also includes a pipeline inspection with the new HEUFT eXaminer II XT which detects small pieces of metal, glass splinters or stones in syrup, jam, yoghurt, creams and lotions before the filling and packaging process starts.

This truly closes the gap – both in the range of highly automated and available HEUFT systems of the new generation as well as in the process and supply chain of drinks, food and pharmaceuticals.

Clear detection and accurate rejection

Compared with its predecessor the HEUFT eXaminer II XT provides even more precision during the careful radiometric inspection of a liquid and paste-like product mass and above all also during the targeted rejection of the partial quantity which is found to be contaminated.  The pipeline which is illuminated by unique X-ray strobes is now positioned vertically instead of horizontally.  Therefore the mass in question can simply flow downwards through a valve while the product which is free of foreign objects carries on to be filled and packaged.  The design optimised for hygiene ensures that neither objects nor product residue can remain in the rejection valve after cleaning.

The further optimised pulsed X-ray technology, which no other supplier has to offer, generates clear detection pictures without motion blurs together with the HEUFT reflexx² real-time image processing system even when the transport speed fluctuates.  And this with unequalled low radiation!  An innovative procedure using regular self-tests validates that the detection performance is always correct.  For this up to four carbon fibre fingers prepared with different test objects are sent directly into the radiation path so that the detection accuracy can be checked under real production conditions and fully documented.

Effective protection against food waste

The pipeline inspector of the new generation achieves precisely, carefully and reliably exactly that which is becoming increasingly important in the supply chain:  the delivery and processing of already pre-inspected bulk goods free of foreign objects.  This minimises the risk of small pieces of metal, glass splinters or stones only being found in the ready packaged end product and therefore provides effective protection against food and packaging waste and consequently excessively high production costs.
